How a Designer Used AI to Build a Museum Ad Campaign from Existing Brand Elements

Figma showed an example of using the Figma Weave design tool to quickly turn brand design elements into advertising materials for several countries.

What the tool is and why it matters

Figma Weave is a workspace where AI blocks are connected to each other, like parts of a construction set. Figma published an example of how to build an ad campaign with these blocks. It is meant for designers who work with brand identity: fonts, colors, and layouts.

The main idea is simple: a brand already has a design system (fonts, palette, layouts), and posters, billboards, and social media posts can be made from it without starting from scratch.

How it works step by step

First, the designer copies the needed frames from Figma Design and pastes them into Weave. The Figma node keeps a link to the original, so changes made in Figma Design appear in Weave too.

Next, the Image Describer node analyzes the samples: which colors dominate, which are used as accents, and how layouts look with a photo versus a solid background. A separate Color Palette node stores the full palette, and three Image Describer nodes describe the gray, yellow-orange, and blue color families.

The Gen Effect node creates a visual effect from a plain-language description, for example a color grading shift and a soft blur around the edges. The result is slightly different each time, so the author suggests generating several versions and choosing the one that fits. The chosen effect is then applied to all images so they look like one series.

The Any LLM node is used to adapt text for other languages. Each language gets its own node set up with guidelines from the brand copywriter. The English line is pasted into the prompt, and the model returns an adapted version with line breaks in the right places. The example covers French, German, Japanese, and Portuguese.

Good to know

The example describes a fictional museum, the Museum of Speculative Futures, so it is a teaching scenario rather than a real campaign. The Figma text also contains no separate links, so additional materials can only be found on Figma's website.
